In 1969 Robert L. Morgan laid the foundation and built the framework for Morgan Commercial Structures. Over time the company has become as diverse as the projects it has led. Whether it's facilities for finance, health care, worship, education, commercial, industry or retail, Morgan has the experience to handle any challenge.
Company President, James R. Morgan began his employment with the company at a very young age, working around the office and the warehouse completing building and grounds maintenance. During high school and college he spent summers working "in the field" in an attempt to learn the business from the ground level up. Jim graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration coupled with a Secondary Concentration in Construction Technology and immediately went to work for the company as a project manager and estimator. In 1996 Jim took over the daily business operations and was elected president in 1998.
Jim and his wife Leslie have two children, a duaghter Danielle and a son Jacob. Jim is and has been active in many other civic and charitable areas. He currently serves on the board of directors for the John A. Logan College Foundation; has served as a director of the John A. Logan College Construction Technology and Techncial Programs Advisory Committee; past chariman of the board of trustees at his local church; has chaired two capital campaign fundraising drives for his local church; past director of Southern Illinois Management Promoting Active Construction Trades (SIMPACT); past director of assisted living private residence communities in both Paducah and Madisonville, Kentucky; and has served as a member to the long range planning committee of Jackson Country Club in Murphysboro, Illinois.
Jim has other business interest that include commercial & residential rental property, commercial & residential real estate development, bank holdings and an international construction company specializing in the material handling industry having completed projects globally in Canada, Puerto Rico, and Italy.
